Kieler Science Award Honors Prof. Claudia Baldus

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Claudia Baldus has been awarded the Kieler Science Award (“Kieler Wissenschaftspreis”) 2025. The Kiel City Council unanimously approved the €10,000 prize.

Prof. Baldus, Director of the Clinic for Internal Medicine II – Hematology and Oncology at UKSH, Campus Kiel, and Professor for Hematology and Oncology at CAU, is widely recognized for her contributions to molecular leukemia research. Her work in establishing the CATCH ALL Clinical Research Unit, supported by nearly €5 million in DFG funding, has significantly advanced our understanding of leukemia and driven innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to patient care. She also played a key role in founding the University Cancer Center Schleswig-Holstein (UCCSH), which continues to improve cancer treatment in our region.
